Working at Wild Capital

We are a small team with a lot to deliver, and that shapes how we work.

Driven by the mission

We exist to get good development consented and to put more land into permanent restoration. Everyone here can say how their work moves one or both of those forward, and we use that as the test for where our time goes.

High standards

Our clients are developers, infrastructure owners and local authorities who rely on us to deliver what we sign. We prepare properly, put things in writing, hit the dates we give and raise problems early rather than late.

Clear accountability

Every site, contract and client has a named owner, and that person has the authority to make the decisions it needs. When something goes wrong we fix it first and then work out why, without looking for someone to blame.

A flat structure

There are few layers between anyone and the partners. Decisions sit with the people closest to the work, ideas are judged on their merits rather than on who raised them, and anyone can challenge a plan they think is wrong.

People do well here if they want responsibility early, would rather be judged on results than hours, and care about getting the detail right both on site and in the contract.

How we operate

We work in partnership with established ecology practices, planning and environmental consultancies, land agents and farmers. We would rather build long relationships where both sides do well than try to do everything ourselves.

Deploying capital efficiently

We fund land, habitat creation and long-term management with our own capital, and we put that money where it creates the most habitat for the cost.

Looking after our clients

Clear prices, quick answers and paperwork done properly. Each client deals with one team from first enquiry to the final monitoring report.

Managing our assets

We own the habitat banks and are responsible for them for the long term. We set the management plans, hold the budgets and answer for the results.

The work on the ground is carried out by a trusted network of ecologists, contractors and land managers, many of them local to our sites. We set the specification, check the work against it and monitor every site closely, so every site is held to the same standard.

Careers

We’re always interested in hearing from ecologists, delivery managers and commercial people who would rather build the answer than write the report.
